Healthy Lifestyles Easier than Ever at Mount Vernon Towers
Most seniors take at least a couple of pills each day. What if we told you there’s one thing you could do that’s as beneficial as any of the medicines in your cabinet? It’s physical activity.
Exercise–walking, chair yoga, dancing, playing with children, walking around the building or even washing dishes–is the healthiest thing you can do for yourself. Moving your body is essential to wellness, and can even help reverse some health problems. The experts say physical activity helps you stay strong and fit enough to do the things you love. It also improves attitude and state of mind.
At Mount Vernon Towers, we’re moving all the time. We offer Chair Yoga (Monday at 10), Focus on Fitness (Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 11), Tai Chi (Tuesday, Thursday at 11), and Dance 101 (Friday at 2). Just show up in comfortable clothes and non-slip shoes! We also have Aquacize (water exercise) in our pool in season.
Health is not only about how we move, but also about what we eat. That’s why the Mount Vernon Towers dining room serves an abundance of fresh foods. By providing more fruits, vegetables, and food that are less processed you are one step closer to being healthier. Occasional treats are always a good thing as long as you eat them in moderation.
A long, healthy life is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about making wise daily choices that will keep you feeling well for a long time to come. Learn more about Mount Vernon Towers, Sandy Springs leading senior residential community, by calling (404) 255-3534.
