27 May Rachel’s Walking Club
Rachel H., one of the residents in Mount Vernon Towers’ Personal Care Center residents, is the Captain of the Rachel’s Walking Club.
The club was started when her family mentioned to Ann Peterson, the Director of Wellness, that Rachel needed to walk more. Right away, Ann decided to start a walking club for the purpose of getting Rachel to walk more – and also encourage other PCC residents to do the same.
Rachel’s Walking Club started on May 4, 2016 – which just happened to be the national “Don’t Sit- Get Fit” Day. Of course, all residents at Mount Vernon Towers are invited to join the groupon Wednesdayat10AM in the PCC Lobby.
Bonus: After each walking session, Rachel entertains the Walking Club members with wonderful tunes on the piano!
Mount Vernon Towers offers a number of different floor plans, a variety of activities and social events, excellent dining and 24-hour security. In addition, the well-established senior living community in Sandy Springs offers onsite rehab services and short-term respite care to get residents back on their feet after surgery or illness.
Mount Vernon Towers’ onsite personal care community is located within the main building. This 28-bed healthcare center provides a comfortable, family-like setting.
