Friends and Family: Great Reasons to Move to Mount Vernon Towers

As you can read in the recent feature story in The Atlanta Journal/Constitution, it was ‘the obvious choice’ for Mrs. Peck Garland to decide to move back to Atlanta last year, where she had lived before moving to Cape Coral (FL) – and into Mount Vernon Towers. “Three of my children live in the Atlanta area,” notes Mrs. Garland, “and what made it easy to select Mount Vernon Towers was the fact that a number of my friends (who I knew from Peachtree Presbyterian Church) had already moved here!”

Location and access to free transportation within a 5-mile radius, as well as Mount Vernon’s outstanding security as well as emergency 24 hour nursing services were other factors that helped make up her mind.

Mrs. Garland, who is outgoing and enjoys making new friends, also likes the opportunities for socializing at Mount Vernon Towers. As she remarks in the interview, “…we go to meals together (…), we have different things people are interested in. I’m in the chorus right now. We’re going to have a Christmas program. (…) Once a month we have a floor luncheon: the whole floor gets together and has lunch so they can get acquainted.”

The fact that Mount Vernon Towers has an assisted living facility as well as in-house emergency response from round-the-clock medical personnel comforts Mrs. Garland and her family. “Every condominium has call buttons that activate in two locations “…so if we have a problem, we can summon somebody.”
