One week before the rest of the country celebrates the traditional ‘Turkey Day”, most of the residents at Mount Vernon Towers celebrate Thanksgiving together at a fabulous Thanksgiving Feast, where the chefs pull out all the stops and serve the beloved bird, cranberries, stuffing, collards and some magnificent pies and other desserts.

“On Thursday, November 15, we expect at least 250 Mount Vernon Residents at our annual Thanksgiving Party,” according to Tommy Miller, Executive Director of the independent living community in the heart of Sandy Springs. “We will start off with a cocktail party, followed by a splendid Thanksgiving meal and music – and when there’s music, you know that there’s always dancing too!”

Mount Vernon Towers started this Early Thanksgiving Feast a number of years ago so that its residents could mark this important holiday together – before leaving to spend the actual day with family and friends. And now Mount Vernon Towers’ Early Thanksgiving party has become so popular that many residents bring their loved ones here – and often celebrate Turkey Day twice in one month!

“On Thanksgiving itself, the dining room at Mount Vernon Towers again offers a Thanksgiving-themed menu for our residents,” explains Miller. “But our big party is a week early on Thursday, November 15, so put on your finest and join us!”
