19 Oct Mount Vernon Towers Welcomes U.S. Representative Tom Price
On October 10, U. S. Representative Tom Price of Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District spoke to approximately 80 residents of Mount Vernon Towers about a variety of subjects close to their hearts such as Medicare, senior issues including Social Security and current bills in Congress.
The informative “town hall” meeting also included a lively Question & Answer session, and Congressman Price encouraged everybody to continue to actively participate in the democratic process by voting and communicating directly with their elected officials. “Make sure to make your voice heard,” he reiterated.
Mount Vernon Towers regularly schedules these types of informational gatherings: recently, law enforcement officials spoke on how seniors can protect themselves against certain scams; medical experts have made presentations about specific health and wellness issues; and local elected officials enjoy meeting the residents and discussing their platforms prior to and during every election season.
“One Sandy Springs Council Member told me that every time he drives by our community, he salutes the Mount Vernon Tower voters who helped put him over the top during the last election – he won by the number of the people who live here,” smiled Tommy Miller, Executive Director of Mount Vernon Towers.
