22 Oct ‘Tis the Season – for Tailgating!
Fall is in the air, and that means it’s time for another fabulous Tailgate Party at Mount Vernon Towers. Every October, more than 200 residents dress in their favorite college colors and get together for a fun celebration of America’s favorite pastime: football!
Of course, there will be real tailgate food served to the partygoers including hot dogs, sliders, and even ribs. Three or four life-size college football mascots will be on hand to add to the pre-game atmosphere (pictures to follow!) and residents will have an opportunity to vote for this year’s Homecoming King and Queen.
And though there will not be a full-size marching band for the half-time show, there will be a three piece band for the Homecoming King and Queen to dance to!
The day before the Tailgate Party, Mount Vernon also hosts a Homecoming Parade through the neighborhood, with eight convertibles taking the residents for a spin in the beautiful fall weather.
“Everybody loves a good Tailgate Party,” notes Tommy Miller, Executive Director. “At Mount Vernon Towers, we know how to celebrate the best part of Fall!”
