The Experience of Aging

“At Mount Vernon Towers, we are focused on providing the best possible experience for our residents,” says Tommy Miller, Executive Director of the independent senior living community in the heart of Sandy Springs. “We understand the importance of personalized support, interesting activities and above all, many opportunities for socializing, which is at the core of a healthful life.”

According to Larry Minnix, president of LeadingAge, a nonprofit trade association of senior living providers, changes made in the senior living industry today will impact the future greatly. At the organization’s recent annual meeting, he noted that there is one major thing to consider: The experience of aging.

“Improving the aging experience in America is the number one key to healthier families, healthier communities, and a healthier economy,” according to Minnix. “Leadership in the senior living industry is based on the fundamental values of this country: justice, mercy, opportunity, and choice, which you fulfill every day in your communities for the people you serve.”
